People

There are many people with a stake in the management of land and water in the Fresno River watershed.  Fire, flooding, pollution, endangered species, water rights, recreation, and our governments’ responses to these issues can affect every landowner and manager. Scientists and researchers work in the region to help us understand what is happening.  Volunteers are vital to organizations and restoration efforts.   This watershed portal requires that before informational resources are added the names of the authors, photographers, researchers etc. must first be entered in this directory so that they can be chosen from the drop down list in the content entry form.  In addition, all who volunteer in or are a stakeholder in the watershed are welcome to add their name and associated information to the People directory.

How to add people

It’s simple to add a new person to the online directory.  You can add listings for both yourself and others.  Please follow the steps below:

Search to make sure the person has not already been added.

Login and click on ‘my folder’ in the site menu bar.

Click on the ‘add item’ pull down menu in the options bar.

Select and click on the ‘‘person’ content type.  Note: it helps to first make sure all the organizations associated with the person have already been added.

Enter information for as many of the fields as possible, e.g. title, organization, email etc.

Click on the next button to enter the next set of metadata fields.  Make sure to click on the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of each page after entering information. Note that information is not saved when clicking the next button, only when clicking the save button.

When you are finished and are ready to share your content with others, go to the 'state' menu at the upper right, and select 'submit'. Portal moderators will review your content and approve it for publication.
